The start of something new.

I'm sitting here in a coffee shop in my hometown of Wilsonville, Or. scrambling to get everything down in the next hour before I embark on my life's greatest adventure. Tomorrow I leave for Paris to celebrate the holidays with my dad, brother and two closest friends. Running away from Christmas, one might say. But what better place to run to? 

2012 has been a rough one and one that I am eagerly waiting to bid farewell to and open my arms to 2013 (more reflection on that later). On January 1st I'll be traveling to Morocco with Rachel Dean as we start our first official buying trip for the dream job of my life: Delyea Navone. I'll be returning home at the end of February with lots of treasures from Morocco, Turkey, India and Thailand. I have about a million other things on my to-do list, so I'm out the door...talk soon! 

One door closes, another one flies open.

It's my last Monday. There is no turning back now! Today marks the first day of my final week at my job - no more of this sitting behind a computer at a desk business. Next Monday is the real monumental day though...the first day of my next chapter: Delyea Navone. About two weeks ago (Thursday, October 11th to be exact) I hit my breaking point. If I didn't make some changes I was going to crumble. And we don't want that. So I made three very significant adjustments in my life. Giving notice at work being one of them.

Up next...TRAVEL! It's always been the constant in my life. My true love. My inspiration. So I figured, why the hell wouldn't I try and make it a part of my life beyond just a hobby?! Turn it into a career. So that's exactly what I'll be doing. With my travel partner in crime and soul sister Rachel Navone Dean, we will be embarking on an adventure this winter and coming back with all sorts of goodies to stock a store somewhere in Oregon. Beautiful artisan imports for the home and travel goods for the wild at heart - sharing culture and tradition beyond borders. I'm VERY excited for this new adventure and can't wait for it to get started.

Drum roll please...

Whelp, it's that time of life again! For those of you who are interested, on Thursday I'll be leaving for a three week extravaganza through Amsterdam and Turkey. It won't be as rugged as India and Africa (I don't think) but it will be filled with adventure, I can promise you that.

Rachel, as suspected, will be my partner in crime for this trip and we're also bringing along her sister Molly - the Wonder Twin in Training, aka WoTIT which in recent days has just been shortened to tits (for reference). 

I will try to update this blog pretty frequently, so just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
